Lin Chih-sheng bid a perfect farewell to the field with his 305th career home run, ending his record of hitting homers in 22 consecutive seasons.

In the 313th game of CPBL’s 36th season today (7th), it marked the last game of “Big Brother” Lin Chih-sheng’s retirement series. Lin started as the first baseman batting sixth in his final career game. He hit his 305th career home run, completing his streak of homering in 22 consecutive seasons, then went back to shortstop defense in the top of the 9th inning. The Wei Chuan Dragons also secured an 11-1 victory thanks to Liu Ji-hong’s two home runs, perfectly concluding Lin’s retirement series which attracted a total attendance of 106,316 fans.

In the first inning, the Dragons took an early 2-0 lead with a connected offensive effort. Later, with runners on second and third and one out, Lin Chih-sheng came to bat, but unfortunately, with a full count, he struck out swinging against Huang Tzu-hao’s high fastball. Immediately after, Liu Ji-hong hit a three-run homer to extend the lead.

In the bottom of the third inning, Lin had his second at-bat. Again, in a full count battle, he watched the pitch go by and struck out looking, shaking his head as he returned to the dugout. The Dragons then added 5 more runs, including Liu’s second homer of the game and contributions from other hitters. In the bottom of the fourth, Lin came up for his third at-bat. With one strike, he swung at a breaking ball and sent a fly ball to center field, but the Taigang Eagles’ center fielder Tseng Yu-ching quickly moved forward and securely caught the ball.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Lin had his fourth at-bat of the game, which was also his last professional plate appearance. Before stepping into the batter’s box, the umpire paused to let the crowd’s applause wash over him. “Big Brother” did not disappoint the fans, sending a high pitch from Hsu Yu-ming over the left-field wall for a solo home run. This was not only his 305th career homer but also his first at the Taipei Dome. As he rounded the bases, teammates left the dugout to greet their veteran leader, and even the opposing Taigang team applauded Lin’s achievement.

In the top of the eighth inning, Huang Wei-chieh, who joined the Wei Chuan Dragons through the 2025 mid-season draft, took the mound. However, his CPBL debut was difficult; he gave up two hits, one walk, and allowed one run before being replaced.

In the top of the ninth inning, with two outs, the coaching staff decided to move Lin Chih-sheng to shortstop defense, while his longtime teammate Guo Yen-wen held second base. The game concluded perfectly after Guo Fu-lin was retired.
