Delayed by rain for almost three hours, the game on the 8th saw the Seattle Mariners visiting the Detroit Tigers. In the top of the 9th, Raleigh hit a two-run homer, stretching the lead to 8-1. In the bottom half, the Tigers got runners in scoring position through hits and walks. Spencer Torkelson hit a long ball, and pinch hitter Andy Ibanez followed with a single, narrowing the gap to 8-4. The Mariners’ closer Andres Munoz was called in and escaped the threat with a fly out and a double play, securing the victory and the series point with an 8-4 win.
