This photo, which has received over 160,000 likes, captures the moment when Yamamoto led the Dodgers to a 5-1 victory over the Blue Jays, leveling the series, as he walked through the dugout to head back inside. It seemed that Sasaki had planned it in advance, suddenly dropping to the floor in a “dogeza”-style kneel along with the translator and trainer, as if worshipping the “Great Yamamoto,” to which Yamamoto responded by waving. Photographer Jon SooHoo recalled the scene with a smile: “It looked like Sasaki was plotting something. When they suddenly knelt down, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing!”

Although this photo stirred quite a bit of debate and speculation on social media, with some wondering if it was a prank, Jon SooHoo clarified on the program that it was simply a unique way for players to celebrate a victory. He believes that the younger Sasaki expressed his sincere gratitude and respect for the veteran Yamamoto’s outstanding pitching in a very humorous manner.
