Yankees' "Jazzman" Jazz Chisholm Jr. has pledged to represent Great Britain in this year's World Baseball Classic.

On the 17th, the Great Britain national baseball team gained a strong reinforcement with New York Yankees standout "Jazzman" Jazz Chisholm Jr. confirming his participation for Great Britain in the 2026 World Baseball Classic (WBC).

Last season, Chisholm reached the peak of his career wearing the Yankees uniform, playing 130 games with 31 home runs, 80 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases achieving a "30-30" all-around stat line. He was not only selected for the All-Star Game but also earned the American League Silver Slugger Award, marking his first annual batting honor in six years of MLB play.

According to the latest reports, Chisholm has committed to represent Great Britain in this edition of the Classic, marking his return to the British jersey a decade after the 2016 Classic qualifiers. Back then, he was just an 18-year-old rookie recently signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks, hitting 4 hits (including one double) in 16 at-bats during that qualifier.

Currently, Great Britain is placed in Group B alongside Mexico, the United States, Brazil, and Italy. Although the team features two MLB players—Chisholm and Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Ty Adcock—overcoming the strong competition from the star-studded teams of the U.S. and Mexico to advance will remain a formidable challenge.
