The Seattle Mariners have signed Bryce Miller to a one-year contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

Today, the Seattle Mariners agreed on a one-year contract with starting right-handed pitcher Bryce Miller for the 2026 season, which includes a team option for 2027, thereby avoiding salary arbitration.

Sources cited by MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reveal that Miller will receive a $2.4375 million salary in 2026, with a 2027 team option valued at $6.075 million (with a $15,000 buyout if declined), and a guaranteed amount of $2.4525 million. Previously, the player requested $2.625 million, the team offered $2.25 million, and the final contract settled exactly at the midpoint.

The sources added that if Miller finishes in the top five of the American League Cy Young Award voting this season, the 2027 team option will automatically become void.

With this deal, the Mariners have now signed all seven of their arbitration-eligible players. Outfielder Randy Arozarena, right-hander Matt Brash, Logan Gilbert, George Kirby, utility player Luke Raley, and left-hander Gabe Speier all reached agreements on January 8.

The 27-year-old Miller started 18 games for the Mariners last season, pitching 90.1 innings with a 4-6 record and a 5.68 ERA. He was placed on the injured list twice due to right elbow inflammation (May 14-31 and June 10-August 19), but delivered an impressive 2.51 ERA over 14.1 innings in the postseason.

Miller broke out in the 2024 season, starting 180.1 innings with a 12-8 record, a 2.94 ERA, and an outstanding 0.98 WHIP, striking out 171 batters while walking only 45. This made him the fourth pitcher in Mariners history to throw at least 162 innings in a single season with an ERA under 3.00, joining Félix Hernández (2009, 2010, 2014), Randy Johnson (1995, 1997), and Hisashi Iwakuma (2013). In 2025, teammate Bryan Woo also joined this group with 186.2 innings and a 2.94 ERA.

Miller was selected by the Mariners in the fourth round of the 2021 draft out of Texas A&M University. He made his MLB debut on May 2, 2023, against the Athletics, setting a Mariners record for strikeouts in a debut with 10 in a single game. Over his career, he has pitched 402 innings, compiling a 24-21 record, a 4.01 ERA, with 364 strikeouts and 105 walks.
