After swinging the bat, Corbin Carroll showed a painful expression and left the game early due to tightness in his lower back, stating he only exited because the score difference widened.

Arizona Diamondbacks star outfielder Corbin Carroll left today's game against the Toronto Blue Jays early due to injury, with the team ultimately losing 4-10. Manager Torey Lovullo expressed no concern after the game, confirming Carroll will return to the starting lineup in the next game.

Carroll appeared uncomfortable after swinging in the bottom of the third inning, stretched his back while playing right field in the top of the fourth, and was replaced before the start of the fifth inning.

Lovullo stated that Carroll would have stayed in the game if the score hadn't been so wide. It is currently expected that Carroll will return to the starting lineup after the team's day off tomorrow.

Lovullo said: "Carroll indeed has some ongoing issues with his lower back. I mentioned before that certain areas of his body are experiencing problems, but overall it's just tightness."

Carroll himself said: "It's just a bit tight. Given the game situation, I felt it was fine to leave early. If the score were close, I definitely wouldn't have come out."

Carroll missed two games during the team's previous East Coast road trip due to tightness in his left hip flexor, and he believes this back discomfort may be related to the previous injury.

Carroll said: "I felt it a bit yesterday, and it felt more restricted when swinging in the batting cage before today's game. I thought I could play today, but once the score widened, there was no need to take more at-bats."
