Li Hao-Yu Achieves Four Major MLB Milestones with a Two-Hit Game, Personally Signs "MLB First Hit" Commemorative Board After the Game

In his third MLB appearance, Detroit Tigers infielder Li Hao-Yu started as the eighth batter and third baseman against the Boston Red Sox. He recorded two hits in the game, unlocking his first MLB hit, first RBI, first extra-base hit, and first run scored. After the game, he personally signed the "MLB First Hit" commemorative board.

In the top of the fourth inning, with two outs and runners on first and third, Li Hao-Yu connected on the second pitch for a center-field hit, driving in the runner from third to tie the game at 2-2. This occurred in his third MLB game and ninth at-bat, officially marking his first hit and first RBI as significant milestones.

In the top of the ninth inning, with the Tigers trailing by five runs, Li Hao-Yu stepped up as the first batter. He also swung at the second pitch, hitting a double that struck the left-field "Green Monster," producing his first extra-base hit in MLB. The ball had an exit velocity of 107.6 mph, traveled 377 feet, and had a launch angle of 20 degrees.

After one out, Li Hao-Yu scored his first MLB run thanks to a double by Kevin McGonigle. Subsequently, Gleyber Torres added another hit to bring in one more run. With two outs, Riley Greene hit a right-field double, driving in two additional runs. Unfortunately, the Tigers ultimately lost 6-8.

After the game, Li Hao-Yu personally signed the MLB first hit commemorative board. He then departed with the team to Detroit to prepare for the upcoming home series.
