Shohei Ohtani extended his consecutive on-base streak to 52 games, tying Shin-Soo Choo's record for Asian players, as the Dodgers routed the Rockies.

Shohei Ohtani continues his ascent toward the top of the Los Angeles Dodgers' franchise record for consecutive games reaching base. In the Dodgers' 12-3 road victory over the Colorado Rockies, he hit a single to right field in the third inning against Rockies starter Jose Quintana, solidifying his personal streak at 52 games, now ranked third in team history.

Only two players now stand ahead of Ohtani on the Dodgers' list: Shawn Green's streak of 53 games in 2000, and the franchise record of 58 consecutive games set by Hall of Famer Duke Snider in 1954.

Ohtani's current on-base streak began on August 24, 2025. Earlier this year, he surpassed Ron Cey's franchise fifth-place record of 47 consecutive games (set across 1975-1976), and on Monday he surpassed "Wee" Willie Keeler's streak of 50 games (from 1900-1901).

Ohtani has now reached base in 35 consecutive games against the Rockies, dating back to July 2021. He also holds a streak of 14 consecutive games with a hit against the Rockies, and a streak of 20 consecutive games with a hit at Coors Field.

Earlier this year, Ohtani surpassed the record held by Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki (43 consecutive games in 2009), becoming the Japanese-born player with the longest consecutive on-base streak.

Today's single also allowed him to officially surpass the record set by Babe Ruth in 1923 and tie the Asian player record of 52 consecutive games held by Shin-Soo Choo.

Since 1900, the longest consecutive on-base streak in MLB history belongs to Ted Williams, who reached base in 84 consecutive games in 1949.
