Roki Sasaki, the Japanese right-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, put together one of his finest performances of the season today at Citi Field in New York, guiding the Dodgers to a 4-2 win over the New York Mets.

Sasaki worked 7 innings, matching his longest outing of the season. He surrendered only 3 hits, 1 run, and recorded 9 strikeouts. Even more impressive, he generated a career-high 21 swings and misses, most of which came from his splitter. The only blemish was a solo home run allowed to Luis Robert Jr. in the second inning.

In the seventh inning, the Dodgers' offense gave Sasaki the win. With runners on second and third and one out, facing Mets left-hander Brooks Raley, Shohei Ohtani hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Teoscar Hernández.
