The 2025 Women's World Curling Championships was a box office success, and the audience mobilization was "well received"

Since 2009, the World Curling Championships held in South Korea for the first time in 16 years have achieved box office results that exceeded expectations. According to the Korean curling community on the 24th, the 2025 LGT World Women's Curling Championships held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Ice Rink from the 15th to the 23rd of this month attracted a total of 4,293 live spectators in 9 days.

Tickets were sold on-site and 117 were pre-sold online, including 91 passes that allowed you to watch all the matches during the tournament at any time. The ticket revenue is about 33 million won. An average of 377 tickets were sold every day, and 100 complimentary tickets (hospitality tickets) were distributed, with a total of 477 visitors. According to statistics, the size of the rink is about 800 seats, and the attendance rate during the competition is 53%.

At the 2009 Gangneung Women's World Curling Championships, the organizing committee adopted a free-admission model, but the mobilization of spectators declined. The World Championships Organising Committee originally adopted a plan not to sell tickets separately, but after the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, curling's popularity in South Korea soared, and the Organising Committee finally established a policy of paying for participation in the competition in order to meet the awareness of paying to enjoy culture and sports.

On the first day of the competition, which was held at the opening ceremony, about 990 tickets were sold for a fee, surpassing the full capacity. Due to the increased level of attention than expected, the organizing committee only charged on-site for weekend games, and issued free hospitality tickets for weekday games where spectator mobilization was reduced.

On the 14th, the day before the start of the 2025 LGT World Women's Curling Championship, the flags of the participating countries were hoisted at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Indoor Ice Rink.

In fact, the crowd seats are empty on weekdays mornings and during the day, but when the games with the Korean team are held on weekends, most of them are full. In addition, there was not a single complaint from the delegations of the 13 participating countries during the competition. The World Curling Federation and the organizing committee also said that "if it reaches this level, it will be a success at the box office".

The South Korean women's curling team, Gyeonggi Provincial Hall, set the goal of winning the gold medal at the World Curling Championships for the first time in South Korea's history in front of the home fans before the game, but in the semifinals and bronze medal matches, they lost to the world No. 1 Canadian team led by Hohmann and the Chinese team led by Wang Rui, ending the journey of the 2025 Women's World Curling Championships with a fourth place.

Through the 2025 Women's Curling World Championships, which will be held on the 15th, seven countries will get direct tickets to the 2026 Winter Olympics

The Gyeonggi Provincial Agency, who won bronze at last year's World Championships, added up their results to finish third in the Milan 2026 standings, helping South Korea secure a fourth consecutive women's curling quota at the Winter Olympics. Canada defeated Switzerland in the final to win the 2025 Women's World Curling Championship and make it two consecutive tournament titles.
