In her post, Ms. Lee said the incident occurred after she lost the All England Championship when she was walking outside the hotel next to the venue. A homeless drug addict suddenly attacked her, targeting her ribs, though he also mentioned that he was lucky that he was only beaten once because there were witnesses at the scene, and that he was not in possession of any knives or other sharp weapons.

Li Wenshan mentioned that the incident shocked her and profoundly changed her perspective on the world. Despite the injury, she was grateful for the support and help of those around her and made it to Switzerland to continue the competition.
