Strider heads to Tampa to meet with Atlanta Warriors Cowpen practice next Monday to decide on the move

Spencer Strider, the Warriors' starting ace pitcher who was reimbursed early for the season due to an elbow injury after only two games in the 2024 season, traveled to Tampa, Florida today to join the team, and next Monday (14th) in the bullpen practice pitching will determine the timing of his major league debut in the new season.

Although Strider's return to the team this season is scheduled for April, it depends on his rehab game in the minor leagues in the new season, and judging from the first three games of triple-A, it seems that returning to the big league pitcher mound will be a recent thing.

Strider's first game of 3A started the main pitch in 3 innings, knocked 2 hits, lost 1 point, and struck out 6 times and guaranteed 1 point. In the second game, the starters made 5.1 innings, no hits, no points, and 8 strikeouts and 2 guarantees. On Friday (11th), the third starting main pitch was knocked out of 5.1 innings, 3 hits were conceded, 1 point was conceded, and 13 strikeouts were guaranteed 2 times.

In total, in three minor league games, Rider was knocked out of 13.2 innings and only 5 hits and conceded 2 points, spurred 27 strikeouts, had a 1.32 ERA and a 1-for-11 batting rate.

Before today's game with the Rays, the Warriors' starting pitcher's ERA rate of 4.03 in the first 12 games of the new season was in the middle of the major league rankings, and in today's game, starting pitcher Bryce Elder missed 5 points in the first 6 innings, which increased the team's starting pitcher's ERA in the first 13 games of the new season to 4.34.

Despite this, the Warriors are still focused on Strider's form and will not rush him back to the big leagues, Warriors head coach Brian Snitker said before today's game: "He's feeling good right now, he said he's in good shape right now, so he's going to come here and join us and then practice shooting in the cowpen next Monday."

That said, if Strider continues to shoot in the bullpen next week, he could be able to complete his season debut in the away series against the Blue Jays at the earliest, or his home debut in the Warriors' six home games in the future.
