President-elect Kasti Coventry (41, Zimbabwe), who was elected as the next president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), highlighted the African Community spirit of "Struggle" (Ubuntu). On the 15th local time, Coventry attended the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Council held at the Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland, together with IOC President Thomas Bach.

Speaking at the conference, Coventry said that FIVB's motto "Together as One" is deeply linked to its own philosophy, "I am justive we are". In last month's election for the next IOC president, President-designate Coventry, who was elected as the first woman to be elected president of the IOC, became the first president from the African continent.
Coventry will officially take office as the 10th IOC President after incumbent President Bach steps down in June this year. After being elected president of the IOC, Coventry is working hard to bring the essence of South African culture to the international sporting scene.
Coventry stressed: "We can only be strong if we stick together. FIVB's aphorisms and my beliefs are philosophically identical. "At this meeting, the FIVB Council discussed the global promotion and sustainable development of volleyball.
At the conference, Coventry highlighted expanding its proximity to younger generations and social responsibility. "Volleyball is about more than just a game," she said. When we move forward together, it will become stronger, more people will become healthy, and active lives will be created. "Former South African President Nelson Mandela often referred to the philosophy of struggle that emphasizes a sense of community and makes solidarity and interdependence, tolerance and sharing as core values.
