At the 2025 World Athletics Relay Championships in Guangzhou, China, on Sunday, May 11, local time, the Canadian team won the first championship in the history of the event at the mixed 4x100m relay final. Jamaica finished runners-up and Great Britain and Northern Ireland took bronze.

Canada won the first-ever mixed 4x100m relay at the 2025 World Athletics Relays, beating out the Jamaican foursome, on Sunday, May 11 in Guangzhou, China.
The Canadian relay team, consisting of Saad McClir, Marie-Eloise Leclerc, Duane Arthur Motta and Eliezer Ajibi, took the lead in the final of the night, winning in 40.30 seconds.
For the first time, a mixed sprint relay event will be set up in this event, and the relay order is female, female, male and male. At the start of the game, Australia had a narrow lead at the first baton handover, but were overtaken by Jamaica after the first two bats.
The third handover entered the men's phase, with Canada taking the lead and Arthur Motta playing well to establish the lead for Aggiebi. Ajibi ran the fastest section of the course on the final pole to take Canada back to the finish line, more than one metre ahead of Jamaica's Brian Levi. Jamaica finished second in 40.44 seconds, while Great Britain and Northern Ireland won bronze in 40.88 seconds.
