The BWF announced the qualification list for the 2025 World Championships in Paris, and three Malaysian men's doubles pairs were selected

Malaysia's former men's doubles bronze medallists Ong Yew Sun and Teo Yu Yu and the Malaysian national badminton team's young men's doubles Yip Rui Keng and Arif are not eligible for the 2025 Badminton World Championships in Paris from 25 to 31 August.

The BWF has announced the list of qualifications for the first phase of the Paris World Badminton Championships based on the world rankings as of April 29. According to the regulations, each country can only have a maximum of 4 pairs, provided that all 4 pairs are ranked in the top 8 in the world. Among them, the Malaysian team has a total of three men's doubles pairs selected in the above list, namely the world No. 2 "Fei Ting Pair" Goh Shi Fei and No. Neu Zu Ting, the world No. 5 former world champions "Xie Su Pair" Xie Dingfeng and Su Wei Yi, and the world No. 7 "Congwen Pair" Wan Wei Cong and Zheng Kaiwen.

Xinyu's record of 5 consecutive campaigns ended. Wang Yaoxin and Zhang Yuyu have participated in five consecutive World Championships since their debut in 2018 (the 2020 Olympic Games were cancelled due to the pandemic and the Paris 2024 Olympics), but they have now slipped to 31st in the world rankings and have failed to qualify for this year's competition.

The 30-year-old Wang Yaoxin and the 32-year-old Zhang Yuyu won the men's doubles bronze medals at the 2021 World Badminton Championships in Huelva, Spain, but their performances have been hampered by form and injuries in the past year. Meanwhile, world No. 21 Ye Ruiqing and Arif are underranked and can only wait for their World Badminton Championships debut.
