Paul Skins made a good shot with the Buccaneers and broke out 10-1 against the Rattlesnakes

Paul Skenes returned to winning shots as the Buccaneers continued their red-hot run of comeback less than 24 hours earlier, beating the Sidewinders 10-1 at Chase Field on Wednesday afternoon. Skins made seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings, making at least six strikeouts for the fifth game in a row. The rookie went into the May finale with a 0-3 record of his last five starters (despite a 2.32 ERA) record, and finally got his first win of the month thanks to his line-up firepower.

The key to victory came in the sixth-innings: the Pirates beat back Sidewinders starter Zac Gallen, Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a crucial second base hit along the touchline of first base to give back two points, and Jordan Lawler gave away two more points after a follow-up pass error. Kinner-Farafa hit three hits (including two second-run hits) in a single game and returned three-pointers to contribute two dozen points, Henry Davis and Jared Triolo each contributed multiple hits, and Oneil Cruz hit his 12th home run of the season in eight innings to help the Pirates score in double figures.

The Pirates will move to San Diego on Friday to kick off a three-game streak with Mitch Keller (1-6, 3.66 ERA) leading the opening game against the Padres.
