Xie Shuwei/Ostapenko advanced in a thrilling way, forcing their opponents back in three sets to advance to the second round of the 2025 French Open Women's Doubles

Chinese Taipei women's Xie Shuwei and Latvian star Ostapenko fought hard in the first round of the women's doubles at the 2025 French Open on the 29th local time, fighting for 2 hours and 35 minutes before forcing out Hungary Bondar (Anna Bondar)/Belgium Minnen (Greet Minnen) 6:3, 3:6, 7:6 (10:3) and successfully advanced to the second round.

Hsieh Shuwei has seven Grand Slam women's doubles titles, including two French Open titles at the French Open in 2014 and 2023, and will join forces with Ostapenko, the runner-up at the Australian Open earlier this year, to challenge for her third French Open women's doubles title.

Third seeds Hsieh Shuwei/Ostapenko played strong in the first set, not being forced to break points, and relied on the crucial break in the fourth game to win 6-3.
