The Chinese team won the overall championship at the 2025 Asian Cup skeet shooting tournament in Linfen, Shanxi Province, on Wednesday.
The Asian Cup skeet shooting tournament was held from June 1 to 11, and two competitors equalled the Asian record, namely Chinese Taipei's Yang Kunbi (men's skeet qualifiers) and Mohd Erumui (men's skeet qualifying), with 124 hits each.
The other three nations that have won the gold medal are Qatar (1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze) in 3rd place, Chinese Taipei (1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal) and Japan 1 gold and 2 bronze in 5th place, while Malaysia is 8th in the medal table with 1 silver. Malaysia's silver medal went to Lee Jun Kit, who won the skeet event on 5 June, and it is worth mentioning that he broke his own national record of 121 rings set in 2022 with 122 rings in the qualifying round.
In the multi-skeet mixed team final on the 11th, Chinese Taipei defeated the Iranian team 46-37 to win the gold medal, while the Chinese team combination Lu Yanyan and Bai Junming lost to the Kuwaiti team's combination Sarah and Nasser 35-40 and missed the medal.
Jiang Yiting won 2 gold medals. Ye Jianhui, event consultant of the 2025 Asian Cup skeet shooting competition, said on the spot that Jiang Yiting, the women's skeet athlete of the Chinese national skeet shooting team in this competition, performed impressively, winning the individual gold medal with a score of 56 rings in the women's skeet shooting competition, and won the team gold medal in the event with two teammates.
Wang Xiao, the head coach of the Chinese team, said that the competition was an opportunity for training. Through the winter intensive training, the team members have improved their abilities, the competition performance is very good, and the young athletes are also growing in training and competition.
A total of 121 athletes from 15 Asian countries and regions participated in the Asian Cup skeet shooting competition, including 24 players from the Chinese team.
