The MLB and the Philadelphia Phillies unveiled the logo for the 2026 Philadelphia All-Star Game.

Just three days after Kyle Schwarber was named MVP of the 2025 All-Star Game on Wednesday, the Phillies officially launched the preparations for the 2026 All-Star Game today.

The celebration kicked off with the "Philadelphia 2026 All-Star Declaration" ceremony at the historic Dilworth Park in downtown Philadelphia. Eight-time All-Star Bryce Harper and team managing partner John Middleton—accompanied by live drumming from Questlove, a member of the Philadelphia legendary band The Roots—jointly unveiled the logo for the 2026 All-Star Game, designed with a theme based on the Liberty Bell.

"History is deeply embedded in Philadelphia's DNA," said Middleton, "and the historical events and groundbreaking achievements this great city has witnessed are long and illustrious. For this reason, the Phillies are honored to host the 2026 All-Star Game in celebration of America's 250th anniversary."

Several team legends attended the celebration, including three All-Stars who played at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia in 1976—Larry Bowa, Greg Luzinski, and Dave Cash. Other All-Star alumni included Bobby Abreu, Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard, John Kruk, Juan Samuel, and World Series-winning manager Charlie Manuel.

"The players on stage may be All-Stars, but let me tell you—you are the All-Star fans!" Middleton shouted to the gathered crowd, "You are the best fans in the country, bar none."

Accompanied by the star-studded logo unveiling ceremony, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker led the countdown to unveil the All-Star Game banner that will hang from the iconic City Hall in Philadelphia.

"Thank you to John Middleton and the entire Phillies organization for allowing us to come together in unity here today," Mayor Parker said, "…I have always believed that Philadelphia has the best sports fans in the nation."

Fans also enjoyed a promotional video for the All-Star Game featuring Broadway star and Philadelphia native Leslie Odom Jr., filmed at Citizens Bank Park. The event was punctuated by performances from The Roots band—but the celebration was far from over.

Holding special commemorative rally towels, some Phillies legends—along with the team mascot, Phillie Phanatic—boarded the "2026 All-Star Declaration Bus," kicking off a celebratory parade throughout the city. The bus made stops at iconic locations including the Art Museum, Independence Hall, and the Betsy Ross House, ultimately arriving outside Citizens Bank Park for the opening game of the series between the Phillies and the Angels.

"We look forward to not only gathering the top players in baseball next year," Middleton emphasized, "but also welcoming everyone to Philadelphia to create a new chapter that connects baseball history with the city's history."

The day-long unveiling celebration reached its peak with a pre-game ceremony at Citizens Bank Park: the U.S. Navy's "Leap Frogs" parachute team descended with the 2026 All-Star banner; Schwarber showcased the MVP trophy, prompting a standing ovation from the Philadelphia fans.

Abreu and Howard—who both won consecutive home run derby titles for the Phillies in 2005-06—then threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Howard expressed high hopes for next year's home run derby:

"I hope someone can hit the ball to the third deck," said the only player to achieve this feat during a regular season game at Citizens Bank Park, "If no one does, I will be disappointed." (Note: Barry Bonds hit the exterior of the third deck but did not land the ball inside.)

Reflecting on being the only player to have ever landed a ball in the third deck, Howard chuckled, "Of course, I was surprised! I remember Bonds hitting the exterior of the deck—that was one of the hardest hits I've ever seen. But actually getting the ball to land in the deck is truly surreal."

The new 2026 All-Star logo has been prominently displayed above the Ashburn Alley in the outfield at Citizens Bank Park and will remain until next summer.

Philadelphia will host not only the All-Star Game in 2026 but also the Home Run Derby, the Futures Game, the MLB Draft, the Capital One All-Star Village, and numerous community events.

"Today is just the beginning," Middleton declared.
