Arizona Diamondbacks superstar Corbin Carroll put on a show today (18th) against the Rockies on the road. In the sixth inning, he capitalized on a misplaced fastball from left-hander Luis Peralta, sending a solo shot to right-center field that traveled an incredible 474 feet—his personal best and the third longest home run in the majors this season.
This homer marked Carroll’s 27th of the season, leaving the bat at 106.7 mph and trailing only Mike Trout’s 484-footer in April and Byron Buxton’s 479-footer in June. Carroll finished the game with two hits in four at-bats, plus a walk, reaching base three times and delivering a stellar performance.
The Diamondbacks racked up 13 hits, with Jake McCarthy and Alek Thomas each collecting three, while Carroll and Tyler Locklear both had two. However, only Carroll and Gurriel managed extra-base hits, and the team went just 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position, failing to string together rallies. Ultimately, the Diamondbacks were edged out 5-6 by the Rockies, suffering their third consecutive defeat on the road.
