Teammates responded to Li Yueru’s season-ending injury: She’s a ray of light and a wonderful person. It’s always tough when someone gets hurt.

On August 21 Beijing time, Dallas Wings players Han Allen and Siegrist were interviewed and both mentioned Li Yueru’s season-ending injury. Earlier, the Wings confirmed Li Yueru would be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season because of a left ACL sprain.

In the game where Li Yueru set her career-high with 20 points, Han Allen assisted her on many occasions. "It’s always hard when someone gets injured, and having her on the court definitely helps," Han Allen said. "It’s tough when anyone goes down, regardless of their position, but especially for a post player... We’ve been overcoming adversity all season, so I think we’re prepared. Still, I wish her all the best and hope everything goes smoothly for her. Now, everyone needs to step up."

Siegrist commented: "Li Yueru truly is a ray of light—she’s an amazing person. So we’ll do our best to support her, whatever she needs. Thankfully, it’s not a more severe injury, but any season-ending injury is tough. So, whatever she needs from us, she knows we’ll be there for her."

Li Yueru’s 2025 WNBA season has come to an end. She played in 31 games, averaging 6 points and 4.5 rebounds, with a field goal percentage of 40.5%, three-point percentage of 36.4%, and free throw percentage of 86%. Since joining the Wings, she appeared in 22 games, averaging 7.4 points and 5.8 rebounds. The Wings currently have a 9-26 record, ranking third from the bottom in the WNBA standings.

According to multiple media reports, Li Yueru will remain in the United States for rehabilitation and will compete in European leagues once she recovers. Previously, she had already signed with Mersin, a team in the Turkish Women’s Basketball Super League.
