Doncic struggled, shooting 4 for 18! Serbia dominated Slovenia by 34 points: Jokic easily recorded 10+8

On August 22nd Beijing time, Jokic guided Serbia to a decisive 106–72 win against Slovenia, where Doncic plays. Doncic struggled on the court, connecting on just 4 of 18 attempts, with 2 of 8 on two-point shots and 2 of 10 beyond the arc.

In Belgrade, Jokic and the Serbian team easily overcame the Slovenia team led by Doncic. In their final warm-up game before the EuroBasket, Serbia secured a large 34-point victory. Jokic nearly posted a double-double in 19 minutes, scoring 10 points (4-for-4 on twos, 2-for-2 on free throws), grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists.

Meanwhile, Doncic had an off night, shooting 4 for 18 in 27 minutes and finishing with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 turnovers. The two stars share a good friendship and often interacted during the game; after the match, Jokic’s daughter even gave Doncic a high-five.

Serbia entered EuroBasket undefeated with a perfect 7–0 record in warm-up games, clearly the top favorite to win the tournament. Slovenia, on the other hand, managed only one win in six warm-up matches.

In the 2025 EuroBasket, Serbia was placed in Group A, alongside hosts Latvia, Portugal, Estonia, Turkey, and the Czech Republic. Slovenia was drawn into Group D, competing with host Poland, Iceland, Belgium, Israel, and France.
