35 years old! Secures contract offer! Cousins is likely to join the Chinese league

According to insiders,Cousins has received several offers from CBA teams...

It is worth mentioning that in 2023, a CBA team proposed a monthly salary of $70,000 to $80,000 to Cousins, which did not meet his expectations, so he turned down the offer and joined the Formosa Dreamers in Taiwan, where he earned $200,000 monthly plus $10,000 per game as an appearance fee.

In the 2023-24 season, Cousins led the Dreamers to the championship, securing his first career title, and averaged an impressive 25.3 points, 16.5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game in the finals, earning him the Finals MVP award.

Born on August 13, 1990, Cousins is now 35 years old, a 10-time first-round 5th overall pick. His last NBA season was 2021-22. At his peak, he was regarded as the top center, with his best season (2016-17) averaging 27.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, shooting 45.2% from the field, 35.6% from three, and 77% from the free-throw line, known as a highly versatile big man.

However, considering Cousins’ age and the long absence from professional leagues, if he really joins the CBA, his performance remains a big question mark. Moreover, his tendency to lose emotional control could make him a highly unstable factor and even a locker room problem.

The 2018 first-round 6th pick, center Bamba, has also recently received an offer from a CBA team, with a pre-tax salary exceeding $3 million, while the new season’s foreign player salary cap is only $4.25 million.However, if the team is financially flexible, they can exceed the CBA foreign player salary cap by paying a regulatory fee for the excess, similar to the NBA’s luxury tax system.

Bamba is undoubtedly gifted, a perfect 2K model player, standing 2.13 meters tall with a 2.38-meter wingspan. Yet modern basketball is no longer just about physical attributes. Over his 7-year NBA career, he has played for 5 teams and was already cut at age 27, which says a lot about his challenges.
