3-for-1! A massive blockbuster trade! Zhang Zhenlin teams up with Wang Zhelin

WOW, WOW.

It's really happening, a huge blockbuster trade.

The Shanghai team has traded for Zhang Zhenlin from the Liaoning team.

A reporter following the Shanghai men's basketball team confirmed this news, stating that the club gave up two young players and cash to acquire Zhang Zhenlin.

After sending away Guo Ailun last summer and Zhang Zhenlin this summer, the Liaoning management has been extremely bold—probably the most daring in recent years—but they didn’t sell everything, having secured Zhao Jiwei with a four-year max contract.

In fact, ever since Liaoning traded for swingman Jiang Yuxing from Jilin, it seemed destined that Zhang Zhenlin would leave the team.

Born on January 28, 1999, standing about 2.06 meters tall, Zhang Zhenlin is a forward who has played five seasons for Liaoning. As a core player, he helped the team reach the finals four times and win three championships. His personal honors include 4 All-Star selections, 3 second-team domestic best lineup selections, 1 first-team domestic best lineup selection, 1 slam dunk contest championship, and 1 rookie MVP award, among others.

Last season, due to injuries, Zhang Zhenlin’s attendance and performance were quite poor. He played only 16 regular-season games, starting 15, averaging 31.4 minutes, contributing 13.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.4 turnovers per game, with shooting percentages of 41.6%, 32.5%, and 90%. In the playoffs, he appeared in 6 games, starting 3, averaging 25 minutes, scoring 7.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1 turnover, with shooting percentages of 32.7%, 16.7%, and 68.8%.

Now that he’s brought his talent to the Shanghai team to join Wang Zhelin, it’s best to settle in. Playing for a big city team also helps maximize his commercial potential. Recently, he launched a training camp with fees set at 7899 yuan for a 6-day youth camp and 4299 yuan for a 6-day adult camp.

Zhang Zhenlin’s current B-class contract expires next summer. As long as he performs normally without major injuries, Shanghai will definitely offer him a D-class max contract extension. Currently, the team only has Wang Zhelin as a max contract player, leaving two max contract slots available.

What more can be said? Wishing Zhang Zhenlin the best of luck on his new journey, hoping he recovers fully soon. Both the CBA and Chinese men's basketball are eagerly awaiting his full comeback.
