The knockout stage matchups for the EuroBasket have been announced! Jokic will face off against Markkanen, while Valanciunas takes on Porzingis.

By September 4th Beijing time, 14 teams have qualified for the EuroBasket Round of 16: Serbia, Turkey, Germany, Finland, Greece, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, France, Israel, Italy, Sweden, and Portugal. The last two places will be contested between Spain, Georgia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Round of 16 matchups are now set with four pairings confirmed. September 7th, 02:45: Serbia vs Finland

Looking at the matchups, undefeated Turkey (5-0 in group play) will face a weaker Swedish team, with Sengun and Larkin likely leading Turkey to an easy victory. The Germany vs Portugal game should also be straightforward, as Schröder and Wagner Jr. form an offensive duo that Portugal will struggle to contain.

The next two matchups might offer more excitement and uncertainty. Lithuania will take on Latvia, featuring a battle between Valanciunas and Porzingis. Meanwhile, Jokic will go head-to-head with Markkanen. Serbia is overall stronger than Finland, but with Bogdan out due to injury, Finland might have a real shot at challenging Serbia.

The other four Round of 16 matchups will be determined after the final two spots are decided. Defending champions Spain face the risk of elimination.
