On September 4th Beijing time, photos surfaced of James visiting the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai last night: in the photos, James wore a white T-shirt and dark shorts, showing off his 23rd signature shoe against the stunning Shanghai nighttime backdrop.

Earlier, sneaker reporter Nick DePaula stated that the new colorway of James’s 23rd signature shoe was specifically designed to honor James as the first player to exceed 40,000 career points. This shoe features a striking crown design and will serve as the central narrative element for the "Forever King" year-round campaign. Advertisements featuring James wearing a gold crown have also been released.

The narrative of James’s 23rd signature shoe will revolve around three phases of his career:

“The Eternal King”: 2018–Present

The "Eternal King" colorway draws inspiration from 23 legendary moments throughout James’s career. This series will launch worldwide on October 3rd, featuring the “Unknown Territory” LeBron 23 shoes. Premium versions of jerseys from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers, along with other apparel, will be released before the 2025 Christmas holidays.

James arrived in Shanghai in the early hours of September 3rd and rested yesterday. He went golfing and reportedly played from morning until afternoon, fully addicted despite the scorching sun. Outside James’s hotel, many fans waited around the clock just to catch a glimpse of him in his car. One fan on site said they planned to wait overnight, traveling a long distance just for a chance to see him.
