On October 8th Beijing time, the Lakers conducted training to get ready for their upcoming preseason game, and multiple players responded to LeBron James' "Decision 2." Following practice, Doncic organized a team activity involving a Porsche driving experience for the whole team.
Earlier, LeBron's "Decision 2" drew significant attention, causing many fans to believe he was retiring, but it ended up being merely an advertisement with Hennessy. Lakers players were also asked about this after practice, and the following is a summary from reporters on site—
Hachimura: "He just likes to stir things up like that."
Reeves: "I got several calls asking, 'What’s going on here?'"
Reddick: "You guys are really clueless."
According to ESPN reporter McMenamin, after the Lakers' practice, Doncic decided to organize a team-building event. The Lakers made some roster changes this summer and are still developing team chemistry. To help with this process, Doncic planned the Porsche driving experience. McMenamin noted that players would have the chance to drive several high-end models from the brand. Each Lakers player could choose one of three different cars to test on the track.
McMenamin stated: "After today’s practice, he (Doncic) personally paid to take all teammates to Southern California for a Porsche driving experience. They will drive models from the 911 and GT3 series on the track. Events like this allow everyone to temporarily escape the pressures of basketball, get to know each other in a new environment, and create shared memories while having fun — hopefully, these memories will help the team get through the inevitable tough stretches of the 82-game regular season."
LeBron was also present at the Lakers' practice, chatting and laughing with teammates. According to Shams, LeBron is expected to miss all preseason games. Doncic has already missed two preseason games. How will the Lakers perform this season? Let’s wait and see.
