20+4! Dominating Yang Hansen's debut! The Warriors' sophomore big man

Starting off facing a boss is truly challenging.

Yang Hansen, with the ball at the free-throw line, faced intense defense from Horford, had his pass intercepted by Butler, and was tripped by Draymond Green while retreating—three stars against one rookie...

Throughout the entire first half, Yang Hansen struggled badly, playing 10 minutes without scoring, only grabbing 1 rebound and 1 assist, while committing 2 turnovers and 1 foul. He was the only Trail Blazers player scoreless in the first half.

However, Yang Hansen’s major strength is his ability to adjust quickly. In the second half, he adapted to the Warriors’ defensive rhythm, worked hand-in-hand with teammates at the top of the arc, then cut inside to finish a layup. Coach Kerr immediately called a timeout, unable to tolerate the Trail Blazers executing such brilliant plays.

After scoring his first preseason point, Yang Hansen looked relieved and smiled like a kid weighing over 200 pounds.

His second field goal came after a teammate’s tough shot missed; surrounded by multiple defenders, Yang Hansen managed to tip the ball into the basket.

Near the end of the third quarter, Yang Hansen was subbed out after a tactical foul, and Billups patted his head to encourage him.

By the way, Yang Hansen even brought a bit of “national essence culture” to the NBA court—after a defensive lapse under the basket led to an opponent’s dunk, he blurted out, “Oh damn.”

In the final quarter, Yang Hansen continued to get playing time but didn’t perform as impressively as in the third. Near the end of the game, he fouled out and left the court, finishing his NBA preseason debut with 21 minutes off the bench, shooting 2 of 5 from the field, 0 of 2 from three-point range, contributing 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and committing 4 turnovers.

Meanwhile, the Warriors’ sophomore big man Poole, who spent the most time matched up against Yang Hansen, used his outside shooting to teach this Chinese player a harsh lesson, repeatedly scoring over him. In about 25 minutes, he made 4 of 9 three-pointers, leading the team with 20 points along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

When the game ended, the Warriors completed an epic comeback by scoring 51 points in the final quarter, defeating the Trail Blazers 129-123.This incredible scoring ability was astonishing; Yang Hansen witnessed firsthand the strength of an NBA powerhouse. This valuable first lesson hopefully will help him grow in future games.
