Awesome! Personally taken to the NBA! China's top scorer truly has talent.

The training videos of Lin Wei at the University of Oregon have surfaced, and as a guard, he is guaranteed ball possession, not merely running sprints back and forth.

Furthermore, the head coach of Oregon has already assured Lin Wei that he will receive playing time. Famous basketball analyst Su Qun mentioned,Oregon University has arranged a rotation role for Lin Wei, anticipating 15-20 minutes of game time.

However, the main reason Lin Wei chose to compete in the NCAA with Oregon University, turning down opportunities to play in the G League and Australia’s NBL,is because the Oregon head coach personally told him he would be taken to the NBA.

According to Oregon University’s registration info, Lin Wei is a sophomore, wears jersey number 23, stands 1.93 meters tall, and weighs 86 kilograms.

Currently, several young Chinese stars are competing in the NCAA. Besides Lin Wei, there are Wang Junjie (born 2005) and Zhao Weilen (born 2005) at the University of San Francisco, as well as Dan Houran (born 2005) at Seattle University. The latter three have represented China’s men’s basketball team at the 2023 U19 World Cup, though none shine as brightly as Yang Hansen.

Lin Wei was born on December 25, 2003, only 21 years old, yet is already one of China’s strongest active players. Last season in the CBA, he became the top domestic scorer, averaging 21 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1.4 steals per regular season game, with shooting percentages of 41.3%, 34.9%, and 87.6%. In the playoffs, he averaged 30.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 11 assists, and 1.5 steals, shooting 43.5%, 26.3%, and 94.1%.

Honestly, whether to strengthen China’s men’s basketball or for the future, Guo Shiqiang should give Lin Wei a chance to join the national team...

Back to the point, Lin Wei also participated in this summer’s NBA draft but unfortunately went undrafted. However, he has not given up on his dream to reach the highest level of basketball in the world and continues to work hard for it. The NCAA is just a stepping stone for him, and there’s no doubt this path will be tough—but not trying means no chance at all.

Hopefully, more inspiring stories of young achievers will be heard, and kudos to all the brave dream chasers.
