DPOY leads MVP race in second place! US media praises Wembanyama's fiery performance: Shaolin journey unleashes his full potential

On October 30th Beijing time, US media ProphetX released the newest probabilities for the regular season MVP and DPOY awards.

In the MVP probability list, Thunder’s Alexander holds the top spot with a 33% chance, Wembanyama is second at 22%, and Jokic follows with 18%. Meanwhile, in the DPOY race, Wembanyama dominates with a 65% probability, far ahead of Holmgren at 11%, and Mobley in third with 5%.

US media Legion Hoops commented on Wembanyama’s performance saying, “That visit to the Shaolin monks truly unlocked Wembanyama’s entire skill set.”

This season, Wembanyama has indeed started historically with the Spurs, who currently hold a 4-0 record and rank second in the Western Conference. Warriors player Draymond Green also generously praised Wembanyama on his podcast.

“If he can sustain this pace and maintain his current level, he will be the kind of player competing for regular season MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Most Improved Player awards… He’ll have a chance to contend for all these honors, and people will just be left wondering—what kind of player can actually stop him?”

After four games, he is averaging 31.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 4.8 blocks per game, with a shooting percentage of 60%. Wembanyama also set an NBA record as the first player in league history to surpass 100 points, 30 rebounds, and 10 blocks in the first three games of a season.

Compared to his rookie year, all his key stats have improved, while his turnover rate has been nearly cut in half.
