On November 13th Beijing time, according to renowned reporter Stein, the Dallas Mavericks are expected to engage in discussions with Anthony Davis's team within the next two months to decide whether to pursue a trade involving him this season.

Stein wrote: "Harrison has always highly valued Davis and once planned to build the team around him as the core. Although Harrison was suddenly fired, there is currently no indication that Davis will insist on leaving because of Harrison’s departure."
“The Mavericks will communicate with Davis’s camp over the next couple of months to determine whether to move forward with a trade involving him this season. Davis’s agent, Rich Paul, has established regular contact with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban since their first meeting in April when the team won the play-in game in Sacramento. Therefore, all parties are expected to coordinate to some extent in advancing the matter.”

If the Mavericks trade Davis, they would undoubtedly gain some future assets, as the 2026 draft will be the last time the team holds its own first-round pick before 2031. However, such a trade would be a difficult outcome for the team. It’s important to remember that Harrison initially pushed for the Luka Doncic trade mainly to pair Davis with Irving and build a championship-contending team. At present, Davis’s trade value remains uncertain, especially given his recent injury concerns, which have further complicated his market worth.
So far this season, Davis has played only 5 games due to injury, averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 52% and a three-point shooting rate of 27.3%.
