Insider Haynes:The Warriors are considering bringing in Anthony Davis, but to spark the Mavericks’ interest, a third party team must be included...

Reporter Siegel disclosed that the Warriors may use Butler as the main piece in a trade for Davis, and it’s improbable they will trade Draymond Green. Additionally, the reporter stated,Unless star player Curry, coach Kerr, and owner Lacob approve, the Warriors won’t part with Draymond Green.

So far this season, the Warriors have a 16-15 record, ranking eighth in the Western Conference. They average 44 rebounds per game, placing 18th in the league, and Draymond Green seems reluctant to guard opposing big men every game, even clashing with coach Kerr over it.

Considering all factors, the Warriors urgently need to add a capable big man in the upcoming trade market. Giannis is too expensive and the Bucks are not interested in trading him for now, so Anthony Davis, who has been put on the Mavericks’ trade block, naturally becomes an excellent option.

This season, Davis is averaging 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. When healthy, he remains one of the best two-way All-Star big men in the league. The problem is his health is inconsistent,as he has only played in 16 of the Mavericks’ 33 games so far, with a participation rate below 50%.He is now expected to miss several games due to a minor groin strain.

Statistics show Davis has suffered 13 groin-related injuries in his career, missing an average of 2.7 games (8 days) each time, which is slightly better than the league average for groin strains (3.6 games, 9.7 days).

In summary, having Davis is a high-risk, high-reward scenario. Acquiring him means accepting frequent injury absences, and as he ages, his fragility will only worsen. The Mavericks have lost patience for this reason and are looking to move on, but any team would treasure a player of his caliber.

Davis is currently 32 years old and will turn 33 next March. His current contract runs through 2028, with a salary of $54.13 million this season. The next two seasons combined pay approximately $120 million, and he has a player option in summer 2027 that could allow him to enter free agency early.

Curry is 37 years old, and his championship window is closing. If the Warriors truly want to help him chase his fifth ring, going all-in is a must.
