On January 6th Beijing time, reporter Sidery reported that the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings have recently started tentative trade discussions involving two-time NBA All-Star guard Zach LaVine.

In the initially proposed trade framework, the Bucks intend to trade Kyle Kuzma and Bobby Portis to the Kings. However, sources say the Kings are taking a firm stance, insisting that the Bucks include their 2031 first-round pick in the deal. Given the uncertainty around Giannis’ long-term future, the Bucks are hesitant to part with that draft pick.

LaVine is averaging 20.2 points this season, with a shooting percentage of 48.7% and a three-point accuracy of 38.8%. His salary this year is $47.5 million, and he holds a player option worth $48.97 million for the 2026-27 season.
Kuzma averages 12.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this season. Despite an impressive shooting percentage of 51.1%, his three-point shooting at 30.7% limits his effectiveness as a perimeter spacing player.

Meanwhile, Portis is in his sixth season with the Bucks, averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season.
The Bucks have tried every possible method to retain Giannis, though it often feels like a desperate move. Do you think the Bucks should acquire LaVine? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
