In the first quarter, Wells and Morland combined to score, giving Liaoning an early 6-2 lead. Quinn dominated both inside and outside, delivering consecutive dunks as Guangdong responded with an 11-2 run to take the lead, forcing a timeout from Liaoning. After the break, new foreign player Hunter entered and scored Liaoning’s first two points from free throws.
