It’s official! Kuminga has requested a trade, igniting rebuilding efforts in the NBA.

He’s extremely impatient, almost desperate, with no pretense at all.

As soon as the trade restrictions were removed, he instantly applied for a trade.

Goodbye, Kuminga.

Notably, Kuminga has missed 13 consecutive Warriors games... due to the team fearing injury risks that might affect his trade value, as well as his own reluctance to play. To put it bluntly, their collaboration ended long ago.

According to the same source from Shams, Kuminga felt forced into signing a two-year, $46.8 million extension (with a team option for the second year) during last offseason, which further strained his relationship with the Warriors’ management.

It is reported that the Kings and Mavericks are currently the most interested teams in Kuminga, both viewing him as a key piece in their rebuilding plans, with other potential suitors also closely watching.

Could Kuminga possibly be part of a trade for Anthony Davis or Domantas Sabonis? (Just kidding) Interestingly, those two All-Star big men have long been major targets for the Warriors.

Kuminga was born on October 6, 2002, drafted 7th overall in the 2021 first round. Over five seasons with the Warriors, he has appeared in 276 regular-season games, starting 97 times, averaging 22.2 minutes, 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game; in the playoffs, he has played 34 games with 4 starts, averaging 11.4 minutes, 7 points, and 1.6 rebounds.

He was once seen as the heir to Curry and the future cornerstone of the Warriors, but unfortunately, it ended on a sour note, similar to what happened with Poole.

So, where does the Warriors’ future lie? With 37-year-old Curry, 36-year-old Butler, and 35-year-old Draymond Green all under contracts expiring in the summer of 2027, the team is set to enter a rebuilding phase then. Ironically, they still haven’t found a reliable young talent to develop as a cornerstone.

Currently, the Warriors hold an 22-19 record, sitting eighth in the Western Conference, 4.5 games ahead of the 11th-place Clippers and 3 games behind the sixth-place Rockets. With this roster, even securing a direct playoff spot is uncertain, let alone chasing Curry’s fifth career championship.
