One-for-one trade completed! Hello, the genius tenth pick!

Yoho, another trade has been finalized, though it’s within the G League.

The Austin Spurs, affiliated with the Spurs, picked up Reddish from the G League player pool and then traded him to the San Diego Clippers, affiliated with the Clippers, for a 2027 G League first-round pick.

Speaking of this season, the NBA trade market has been surprisingly quiet. With the deadline (February 6) approaching, the only notable move was the Hawks sending Trae Young to the Wizards in exchange for CJ McCollum and Keef Porter. Big names like Giannis and Davis remain inactive, much to fans’ anticipation.

Back to Reddish, this guy was born on September 1, 1999, once ranked the third-best high school player nationwide. During his NCAA days at Duke, he formed the Blue Devils’ “Big Three” with Zion and Barrett. He started his NBA career as the 10th overall pick in the first round of 2019 but failed to meet expectations and was cut at just 26 years old...

From the 2019-20 to 2024-25 seasons, Reddish’s NBA career spanned six years, playing for the Hawks, Knicks, Blazers, and Lakers. He appeared in 254 regular-season games, averaging 23.1 minutes, 8.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1 steal per game, with shooting percentages of 39.8% and 32.2%. In the playoffs, he played four games, averaging 23 minutes with 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 steals, shooting 52.8% and 64.3%.

Last summer, after going unsigned in the NBA free agency, Reddish officially joined Lithuanian club BC Siauliai on September 12. However, he left the team on December 7 due to personal reasons, lasting less than three months. During that time, he played nine games, averaging just 14.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.

Now that Reddish has chosen to join the G League, it’s clear he still hopes to return to the NBA. But given his struggles even in overseas leagues, reality may once again prove harsh for him.

Even if one day Reddish suddenly lands on a CBA team, it wouldn’t be surprising since we tend to welcome players with NBA experience, especially those drafted high.

Earlier last year, some American media predicted the odds of Reddish’s next team, with Beijing, Guangdong, and Shanghai ranking as the top three candidates, detailed as follows:
