3-0! Champions! Championship on the way! Thank you, Sun Minghui!

In Games 1 and 2 of the Finals, the home team Shanghai won two consecutive games against the defending champions Guangsha, 101-90 and 91-88 respectively, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.

Game 3 moved to Guangsha's home court. For this game, Shanghai's two foreign big men, Lofton and Whiteside, were both sidelined.

It was expected that Guangsha would seize the opportunity in Game 3 to crush Shanghai and pull one back.

However, the turn of events exceeded expectations...

Throughout the first half of Game 3, Guangsha remained on the back foot, trailing Shanghai by eight points at 50-58—not an insurmountable deficit.

But in the third quarter, Guangsha suffered another collapse, allowing Shanghai to unleash a stunning 30-11 run. They entered the final quarter trailing by a huge 27 points.

In the end, Shanghai delivered a ruthless blow, crushing Guangsha 110-77 on the road, winning by 33 points. With a 3-0 series lead, a sweep looks highly likely.

Shanghai's stats are as follows:

All five starters scored in double figures. The team made 43 of 71 field goals, shooting approximately 60.6%, including 13 of 29 three-pointers (about 45%).

Guangsha's stats are as follows:

Sun Minghui shot 2 for 8, scoring just 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists while committing 3 turnovers, with a plus-minus of -19. In the previous two games, he had 0 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, and 5 turnovers (0 for 5 shooting) and 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 turnover (2 for 7 shooting).

Now it's understandable why Shanghai fans chanted "Thank you, Sun Minghui" after Game 2. (Sarcastic wink).

It's worth noting that in CBA Finals history, no team has ever come back from an 0-2 deficit, let alone 0-3. Given Guangsha's poor performance across these three games, their chances of making history are virtually zero.

Perhaps we can congratulate Shanghai in advance. They are set to win their second championship in franchise history, 24 years after their first title in the 2001-02 season under Yao Ming.
