On June 2, Beijing time, in two days, the 2025-26 NBA Finals will begin, with the Spurs and Knicks competing for the championship. U.S. media reports that fans heading to the Knicks' home court will spend far more than those attending the Spurs' home games.

Reporter Darren Rovell wrote: A legendary record is being born. This is the most extreme disparity in home-court ticket prices in professional sports history.Spurs home Game 1 minimum entry ticket: $800 (approximately 5,413 yuan), Knicks home Game 3 minimum entry ticket: $4,300 (approximately 29,093 yuan). With the same matchup, New York's home ticket price is more than five times that of San Antonio's.
The Knicks are back in the Finals for the first time since 1999, and fans are eager to cheer in person, directly driving up ticket prices at Madison Square Garden. Another major highlight of this postseason: a large number of Knicks fans traveling to away games and taking over opposing arenas.
Thanks to lower away-game ticket prices, large groups of Knicks supporters traveled to places like Philadelphia and Cleveland for road games. Now in the Finals, it's up to local Spurs fans to defend their home court and prevent visiting fans from "storming" their arena again.
It is reported that to prioritize local fans' ticket purchasing rights, the Spurs have set up online ticket-buying geographic restrictions: only residents living within a 150-mile radius of the arena can directly purchase tickets through official channels. The team explained that this measure prioritizes local fans in San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding areas, preventing out-of-town scalpers from bulk-buying tickets. This restriction rule has been adopted by multiple NBA teams.
Fans who do not meet the geographic requirements can still purchase official certified resale tickets through the Spurs' official website or Ticketmaster platform. As the game approaches, remaining tickets will become increasingly scarce.

Although the $800 minimum ticket price for Spurs Game 1 is nothing compared to the Knicks, it is already significantly higher compared to previous Spurs Finals ticket prices. Data shows that in the 1999 Finals, the cheapest Spurs home ticket was $15, and courtside tickets were about $500. In the 2014 Finals, when the Spurs faced the Heat, the average ticket price for Game 1 at home was $565, and now $800 is the minimum price.
