On June 3, Beijing time, the Chinese men's basketball team secured an 82-78 victory over Serbia's FMP in a friendly match.

In the opening quarter, Xu Xin made an easy tip-in, Liao Sanning displayed his mid-range shooting, and Wang Junjie consistently scored inside. China and their opponents were evenly matched, trading baskets to an 8-8 tie. The seesaw battle continued, and the score was once again knotted at 12-12. Grojic hit a three-pointer, and Eugen's drives to the rim were unstoppable as FMP went on an 11-0 run to take a 23-12 lead. Jiao Poqiao stepped up, scoring seven points through a mix of drives and outside shots, becoming China's main scorer, but that couldn't halt the slide. By the end of the first quarter, China trailed 19-27.

In the second quarter, Pang Zhenglin sank a three-pointer, Xu Xin threw down a powerful dunk, Pang Zhenglin scored five points through drives and jumpers, and Cui Yongxi converted a layup in transition. China played impressively, solidifying their edge and ending the quarter ahead 58-56.

In the final quarter, Zhao Weilun knocked down a jumper, Liao Sanning hit consecutive three-pointers, and Wang Junjie also connected from deep. China's perimeter shooting came alive, giving them a 77-72 lead. Then Pang Zhenglin made a mid-range jumper, while Dosavljevic threw down a dunk in the paint, but China still held a narrow 79-76 advantage. After Zhao Weilun made two free throws, China led by five points. From there, they managed to maintain their lead and secure the win.
