Yang Hansen's new boss has won a championship! The NHL Hurricanes have lifted the Stanley Cup: Setting an example for the Trail Blazers?

On June 15, Beijing time, when Trail Blazers' new owner Tom Dundon first purchased the Carolina Hurricanes, many dismissed the move with ridicule. He cut costs, tightly managed expenses, and repeatedly challenged the team's established traditions. Unsurprisingly, many detractors labeled him as excessively frugal. This situation seems all too familiar, doesn't it?

Now, the Hurricanes have claimed the Stanley Cup (the NHL championship trophy). After Dundon acquired the Portland Trail Blazers, similar criticism quickly followed. He has faced backlash for reducing expenses, restructuring the team, and operating in a manner differs drastically from most NBA team owners.

Some of these criticisms may hold merit, while others are unfair. However, one point cannot be overlooked: back then, people also claimed his management style wouldn’t work in hockey.

Yet in the end, the Carolina Hurricanes evolvedCarolina Hurricanes grew into one of the benchmark teams of the National Hockey League.

Dundon has repeatedly stated that he is not unwilling to spend money but wants it directed toward areas that enhance the team's performance. He recently remarked, "I just don’t want to waste funds; I want effective investment." Currently, his approach hasn't won him goodwill, but what truly matters is the actual results.

Once the Trail Blazers start winning, no one will care about the size of the travel party, checkout times, or the staffing of the administration. The only thing people will only care about the outcomes on-court victories and defeats.

That was the case for the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, Dundon has the chance to prove himself once again in Portland. Even now, doubts persist, much, much as before the Hurricanes championship, when the outside world was equally full of skepticism-ridden.

Regardless, Yang boss has already won-owner has already claimed a championship in another professional league. Does his management style set an example for the Trail Blazers?
