Brown's heart has truly been broken by the Celtics.

In the coming NBA season, two major storylines deserve attention:Where will Brown and LeBron go?

Today, let's talk about the former.

The Bucks ultimately completed a blockbuster 2-for-9 trade, sending Giannis and Portis to the Miami Heat, completely rewriting the Eastern Conference landscape.

In this trade, the Celtics were mere bystanders throughout, repeatedly sacrificing their Finals MVP Jaylen Brown in pursuit of Giannis, ending up with both a disgruntled star and a failed roster upgrade, making Brown the most awkward accomplished star in the entire league.

According to Shams' latest report, in any potential trade involving Jaylen Brown, the Celtics are demanding at least four first-round draft picks.

From Boston's perspective, the demand is reasonable.

However, teams that want to acquire Brown would essentially have to dismantle their roster.

Very few teams have the resources to meet that price, especially with his salary at $57 million for next season.

At this point, both Brown and the Celtics find themselves in an awkward position.

Brown's awkwardness stems from a serious disconnect between his accolades and his standing.

In the 2024 Finals, with his explosive two-way performances, he led the Celtics to a championship and earned Finals MVP, officially ascending to the ranks of championship-caliber cornerstones.

That should have been a perfect opportunity for him to solidify his role as the team's primary cornerstone, yet in just two years, that highest honor has become virtually meaningless.

Even this past season, with Tatum sidelined for an extended period, Brown carried the team, averaging a career-high 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game, ranking fourth in the league in scoring, and single-handedly leading a depleted Celtics squad to an impressive second-place finish in the East.

In terms of contributions and performance, he was undeniably the team's top star, yet what he received was not the utmost respect and core protection from the franchise, but rather a cold spot on the trading block.

Whether in the eyes of the front office or the Celtics fans, Tatum seems to be the true alpha.

If Brown were a hot-tempered star, he would have packed his bags and left long ago.

Over four years, he has been used as a high-value trade chip for the team's pursuit of superstar players three times.

In the 2022 offseason, the team planned to use him as the centerpiece in a trade offer for Kevin Durant, and subsequently, trade rumors repeatedly surfaced.

But this offseason's moves have left him completely disheartened.

The front office, without any prior communication or preparation, directly used him as the primary trade chip in negotiations to acquire Giannis, and Brown only found out he was nearly traded after the deal fell through.

A core star who just had a career peak and holds a Finals MVP trophy has been reduced to a disposable commodity for the team — such treatment is extremely rare among top NBA stars.

Once a mirror is broken, it can never be perfectly restored.

This offseason, with his heart thoroughly broken, Brown is likely to leave Boston and start fresh in a new environment...
