Official announcement! Hello, Nuggets! The 27-year-old former No. 2 pick teams up with Jokic

Didn't the Nuggets say they were going to make major changes? Trading everyone except Jokic...

It's been a long time since the trade and free agency period began, and other teams have been feasting, with even the worst getting a taste.Yet, the Nuggets' only acquisition so far is signing Marvin Bagley III to a one-year veteran minimum contract.

If Bagley is the only new addition for the Nuggets this offseason, Jokic might pack his bags and leave overnight.

This guy was born on March 14, 1999. He's a 27-year-old former No. 2 pick, a power forward/center standing 6'10" with a 7'0" wingspan. In the 2018 draft, he was selected after Deandre Ayton and before Luka Doncic.

Before joining the Nuggets, Bagley played for the Kings, Pistons, Wizards, Grizzlies, and Mavericks, with the following stats:

Regular season: averaged 22 minutes per game, 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1 assist, shooting 53.1% from the field;

Playoffs: averaged 14 minutes per game, 8.5 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal, shooting 88.9% from the field.

In short, Bagley's development hasn't lived up to expectations, and he's even been labeled a "bust" as a No. 2 pick. However, he now excels as a blue-collar player, so he doesn't have to worry about finding work. He was popular in this year's free agency and received multiple offers. He chose to bring his talents to the Nuggets for a chance to compete for a championship.

The question is, are the current Nuggets still a championship-caliber team? Last season, they finished third in the Western Conference with a 54-28 regular-season record but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Timberwolves in six games.

It's worth noting that, according to Bennett Durando of the Denver Post:The Nuggets have already proactively contacted LeBron James, who is currently a completely free agent, expressing their hope that he finishes his playing career with the team.

If the Nuggets can field a starting lineup of James, Murray, Johnson, Gordon, and Jokic next season, they would undoubtedly re-enter the discussion among championship favorites, and their popularity would see a significant boost.
