On July 7th Beijing time, Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey officially announced: The team has acquired five-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA player Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics, sending out Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks.

The four draft picks involved in this trade are detailed as follows——
2028 Los Angeles Clippers' own first-round pick: If this pick falls in the top 16, it will be replaced by a swap right—the Celtics can exchange their own 2028 first-round pick (the worse of the Celtics' and Spurs' picks) for the better of the Clippers' 2028 first-rounder and the 76ers' 2028 first-round pick (if the 76ers' pick is in the top 8).
76ers' unprotected 2031 first-round pick.
2028 second-round pick: The highest-ranked pick among the Warriors', Bucks', and Thunder's 2028 second-round selections.
2030 second-round pick: The highest-ranked pick among the Suns', Trail Blazers', and Wizards' 2030 second-round selections.
Harris, one of the team owners, commented: "I am thrilled to welcome five-time All-Star and 2024 Finals MVP Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers. Throughout his career, Jaylen has proven himself as one of the league's premier two-way players. He understands what it takes to reach the top and win a championship, and I can't wait to see him alongside Embiid, Maxey, and Ojeleye. I also want to thank Paul for his contributions during his time in Philadelphia. Paul and his family have been actively involved in local community philanthropy, and we are deeply grateful for their impact and legacy here."

Brown, 29, is a 10-year veteran who spent his entire career with the Celtics, appearing in 674 regular-season games. He averaged 31.0 minutes, 20.0 points (47.8% FG, 35.8% 3PT, 73.9% FT), 5.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.
He was the third overall pick in the 2016 draft and has averaged over 20 points per game in seven of his 10 seasons. Since the 2019-20 season, only four players in the league have recorded at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 steal per game for seven consecutive seasons—Brown is one of them.
President of Basketball Operations Morey added: "Jaylen consistently ranks among the league's elite year after year. His on-ball skills are outstanding, his game is versatile, and he positively impacts both ends of the floor. His extensive playoff experience, high basketball IQ, composure under pressure, and leadership will benefit the team long-term. As a perennial All-Star and All-NBA caliber player, Jaylen has a unique ability to deliver standout performances on the biggest stages—his 2024 championship run and Finals MVP are the clearest proof. We are all thrilled to officially bring him on board."
Brown's playoff résumé is exceptionally impressive. Over 10 seasons, he has led his team to the postseason nine times, appearing in 142 playoff games. He averaged 33.6 minutes, 19.6 points (48.0% FG, 35.7% 3PT), 5.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.
During the 2023-24 playoffs, he cemented his playoff legend status by leading the Celtics to a championship. In the five-game Finals series against the Mavericks, he averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.6 steals on 44% shooting, scoring 20+ points in four games. In Game 3, he erupted for 30 points, going 10-for-13 on two-pointers in the paint, earning Finals MVP honors with that dominant performance.
Since entering the NBA in the 2016-17 season, Brown has accumulated 523 total wins (regular season and playoffs combined), ranking first among all players in the league during that span.

Jaylen Brown himself stated: "I'm really looking forward to starting a new chapter in Philadelphia. After talking with the front office, I can clearly feel that this team is full of fight, hunger, and a single-minded pursuit of a championship—exactly the atmosphere I've always wanted. I've always believed that to succeed, you need sacrifice, accountability, and putting the team above yourself. I'm eager to build chemistry with my teammates, earn their trust, and chase greatness together."
"Off the court, I'm equally excited to immerse myself in the Philadelphia community. Throughout my career, I've always believed that basketball can truly transform communities, and I plan to continue running my 7UICE Foundation, focusing on youth development and education to create lasting positive social impact. I'm grateful to the team for this opportunity, and I'm ready to give my all."
The recently concluded 2025-26 season was Brown's career peak: he averaged a career-high 28.7 points per game (fourth in the league, first in the East), along with career-best marks of 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists, shooting 47.7% from the field and 34.7% from three.

The Marietta, Georgia native led the East in total points (2,038) and games with 40+ points (seven) this season. On January 3, 2026, on the road against the Clippers, he scored a career-high 50 points on 18-of-26 shooting (10-of-16 from three). Throughout the 2025-26 season, he recorded 15 games with at least 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, tied for fifth in the league.
Paul George played two seasons for the 76ers, appearing in 78 regular-season games and averaging 16.7 points (43.3% FG, 37.5% 3PT, 81.7% FT), 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
Brown will wear the No. 7 jersey for the 76ers.
