On July 11, Beijing time, ESPN reporter Windhorst shared that a source revealed LeBron James has nearly finalized a deal with a team other than the Cavaliers.

"I've also heard related rumors from other city teams. I can't reveal which one specifically. Today I spoke with a reliable source who assured me just hours ago that LeBron has reached a final agreement with another team (not the Cavaliers). But I'm remaining extremely cautious about this, as the information is very fragmented. I also know LeBron's usual style; his inner circle keeps secrets very tightly."
There is also an unsubstantiated rumor going around that LeBron plans to persuade Warriors veteran forward Draymond Green to join him with the Cavaliers. However, Windhorst said there is no credible source to back up this claim.
Over the past eight seasons, James has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, but on July 1 he informed the team that he would be moving to another squad next season.
Since then, multiple teams have been linked to LeBron, and his agent last week publicly listed potential destinations.
Rich Paul, on his podcast "GameOver," brought out a whiteboard that listed ten prospective teams: the Cavaliers, Warriors, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, and San Antonio Spurs.
Paul made it clear that all ten teams are within LeBron's consideration.

James has the deepest connection with the Cavaliers: he spent his first seven NBA seasons in Cleveland, then left for the Heat for four years; in 2014, LeBron returned to the Cavaliers, led them to four consecutive NBA Finals appearances, and won the franchise's first championship.
Now 41 years old, James was born in Akron, Ohio, making the Cavaliers his hometown team, and a return to Cleveland has always been considered a highly likely option.
But the Warriors are also a hot destination for LeBron. Reports last week said the Warriors planned to go all-in on pursuing James in free agency. The report mentioned that the Warriors are interested in assembling the three stars under Klutch Sports: LeBron, Green, and Anthony Davis. However, reporter Spears reported that the Washington Wizards have rejected all trade inquiries regarding Davis.

If James signs with the Warriors and Green stays on the team, the three would join future Hall of Famer Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, who is recovering from an ACL tear.
On the Cavaliers' side, they could offer James a formidable frontcourt and backcourt combination: Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen; if James Harden completes his extension, he could also pair with Harden.
The 76ers have also become a very attractive alternative. The team previously acquired Jaylen Brown from the Celtics via trade, and now their core lineup consists of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and V.J. Edgecombe.
