On July 11, Beijing time, per Shams’ report citing ESPN sources, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro engaged in a physical confrontation in Las Vegas today, where Adebayo hit Herro. Insiders stated the altercation took place this morning at a hotel gym in Las Vegas. The seven-year partnership between the two Heat teammates has now come to an end, as Herro had previously criticized Adebayo on social media, prompting Adebayo to approach him for a discussion, which escalated into the conflict.

At the end of June, the Heat executed a blockbuster trade, sending Herro, several young players, three first-round picks, and pick swap rights to the Bucks in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis. This 2-for-9 deal directly dismantled the Adebayo-Herro duo, leaving Adebayo in Miami to form a twin-tower frontcourt with Giannis.

After the trade was finalized, tensions boiled over. As Shams reported, the two had a physical altercation during training in Las Vegas, with Adebayo striking Herro. Reports indicate that Herro, who was sent to the Bucks, felt unsettled and publicly criticized Adebayo’s salary on a private social media account, claiming his max contract was overvalued given his defensive-only play, revealing long-standing resentment over their unequal status through the years.
Now on separate teams, reports suggest the Bucks have placed Herro on the trade block for a potential second move; Adebayo remains a cornerstone in Miami, aiming for a championship run alongside Giannis next season. The former teammates have completely fallen out, and the Eastern Conference landscape has been significantly reshaped by this trade.
