A Chinese basketball team has invited LeBron James to join, citing three reasons, while James is still considering his next destination.

Noted reporter Shams reiterated today that the Cavaliers, Heat, and 76ers are the three teams most actively pursuing James. Teams such as the Warriors, Nuggets, and Timberwolves are not as strong contenders. Of these six teams, only the Heat can provide roughly $7 million in salary; the others can only offer James a veteran minimum deal.

For the Cavaliers, James Harden's opt-out and extension will affect whether they offer James a $3.9 million minimum or a $6.1 million partial mid-level exception. If the Cavs trade Strus or Schroder, they could also provide James with a contract worth over $6.1 million.

A championship ring is not the only factor for James. His agent, Rich Paul, stated yesterday that this time, no one's opinion on James' next move matters.
