Sudden suspension! Another doping case! Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year

In June last year, the China Anti-Doping Center discovered that Harrell had committed an infraction while with the Xinjiang team in the 24-25 season, leading to a three-month ban.

Recently, Puerto Rican media outlet *Primera Hora* reported thatHarrell, a player for the Puerto Rican league team San German, has been suspended until January of next year because his urine volume did not meet the minimum standard for doping tests, causing the test to be incomplete. This dates back to his time with the Australian NBL club Adelaide 36ers (January 29, 2025).

Born on January 26, 1994, Harrell is a power forward/center standing 2.03m tall with a 2.24m wingspan. He was the 2nd pick in the second round of the 2015 draft.

Throughout his NBA career, this guy played for the Rockets, Clippers, Lakers, Wizards, Hornets, and 76ers, with stats as follows:

Regular season: averaged 20.5 minutes, 12.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, shooting 61.9% from the field.

Playoffs: averaged 15 minutes, 8.6 points, and 2.8 rebounds per game, shooting 61.3% from the field.

Harrell’s NBA peak was during the 19-20 season with the Clippers. He played 63 games (2 starts), averaging 27.8 minutes, 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game with a 58% field goal percentage, earning him the Sixth Man of the Year award and the Hustle Award.

His three-year stint with the Clippers was a mixed bag. In particular, his whistling behavior after the team’s Western Conference semifinals exit in 2020 caused his reputation to plummet. That summer, he left as a free agent, signing a two-year, $19 million deal to take his talents to the neighboring Lakers.

By the way, Harrell last played in the NBA during the 22-23 season with the 76ers. Since then, he has bounced around multiple overseas leagues to earn money. As mentioned, he briefly joined the CBA for the 24-25 season with the following stats:
