7 out of 8! Posterizing dunk! Yang Hansen's career-best game

The young man, who just turned 21, has remarkable recovery ability—he only needed one day off to return to action.

Yang Hansen, due to a hectic summer of constant travel, suffered a weakened immune system and contracted a skin infection, causing him to miss the previous game where the Trail Blazers lost 105-112 to the Magic.

In the back-to-back game against the Timberwolves, Yang Hansen chose to return. Despite a rough first half with 4 turnovers and 4 fouls, he still delivered a solid all-around performance of 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, with an outstanding +17 plus-minus leading the team.

In the third quarter, Yang Hansen found his rhythm and went all out, making all 4 of his field goal attempts for 10 points in the period, showcasing a variety of offensive skills. The on-site commentator praised him for resembling Jokić as he led the team to a decisive 30-22 run that secured the victory.

However, given his recent illness, his stamina was naturally affected. Before leaving the game in the fourth quarter, he delivered a brutal two-handed dunk over two defenders, effectively ending the contest and instantly electrifying the otherwise dull arena.

No exaggeration—Yang Hansen can now easily handle the intensity of the NBA Summer League. But as the 16th pick in the 2025 draft, his true stage awaits in the regular season.

Compared to his rookie season, Yang Hansen will face even greater competition in his upcoming sophomore year. Besides him, the Trail Blazers' center position includes Clingan, Williams, Carlson, and Micah Potter—the latter two being new additions, both stretch big men.

Back to the game, the Trail Blazers finished with a dominant 111-84 victory over the Timberwolves, securing their first win of this year's Summer League.

Trail Blazers stats:

Yang Hansen started and played about 21 minutes, shooting 7-for-8 (87.5% accuracy) for 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, with a plus-minus of +20, tied for the highest in the game.

Timberwolves stats:

Notably, the free throw rules in this year's Summer League differ from previous years, as follows:

1. Players take only one free throw, which can count for 1, 2, or 3 points;

2. In the final two minutes of the fourth quarter and in overtime, standard NBA free throw rules still apply;

3. The NBA G League has used this rule since the 2019-20 season to improve game flow.
