It's done! Officially signed with the Nuggets! European DPOY joins forces with Jokic

Scoop master Shams:The Nuggets have signed EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year Alpha Diallo to a one-year, $1.4 million guaranteed contract.

Diallo was born on June 29, 1997, stands 2.01m tall with a 2.13m wingspan. Last season, he played for Monaco in France, averaging 28 minutes per game with 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.4 steals. His points allowed per possession (0.844) ranked first among all forwards in the EuroLeague, while he ranked in the top 20 in pick-and-roll defense and allowed only 0.706 points per possession when defending ball handlers, among other stats.

This guy is American, so there will be no language, lifestyle, or cultural barriers with the Nuggets. He played four years of NCAA basketball at Providence College, averaging 14.1 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in his senior season, with shooting splits of 41.4/31.3/63.2%.

Nuggets beat reporter Ryan Blackburn commented: "The Nuggets have always been a weak defensive team, so adding a good defender is certainly a positive move. However, whether Diallo can make an impact in the NBA remains to be seen."

Last season, the Nuggets finished with a 54-28 record, ranking third in the Western Conference. However, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Timberwolves in six games. Their performance stats are as follows:

They allowed an average of 116.9 points per game, ranking 21st in the league, and their defensive rating of 116.0 also ranked 21st.

By the way, the Nuggets' offseason has been eerily quiet. It feels like they are completely detached from free agency and trade markets, with almost no notable moves. They seem to be either coasting or satisfied with their current roster...

Not only are they not bringing in new players, but they can't even keep their own.

The Nuggets have already waived backup center Valan, and key rotation guard Watson is on his way out.

Watson is a restricted free agent. It is reported that the Nuggets plan to execute a sign-and-trade for him, seeking a "Lakers center Kessler-type" return, asking for two unprotected first-round picks and two first-round pick swaps.
