At 37! Reportedly refused to team up with LeBron! A genuine all-star guard.

New York Post reporter Stefan Bondy revealed:Westbrook would only consider signing with the Heat if LeBron James joins another team...

At 37, Westbrook is still that genuine.

In the 22-23 season, Westbrook briefly teamed up with James, but the chemistry was far from expected. In February 2023, the former was traded by the Lakers, yet there has never been any talk of their personal relationship being irreconcilable.

By the way, Westbrook actually didn't have many options in this summer's free agency. So far, only a few teams have been rumored to be interested in him, namely the Heat and his former team, the Wizards.

To put it bluntly, this 9-time All-Star veteran is no longer in a position to pick and choose teams like LeBron. He should jump at any contract offer, especially from a championship contender like the Heat, without hesitation.

Last summer, Westbrook was nearly out of the league. He didn't receive a one-year non-guaranteed veteran minimum contract from the Kings until just before the 25-26 season started. He played 64 regular-season games, starting 58, averaging 29 minutes per game with 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.3 steals, shooting 42.7% from the field, 33.8% from three, and 69.4% from the free-throw line — excellent value. Unfortunately, as mentioned, he still hasn't received enough recognition in this summer's free market.

In his 16-year NBA career so far, Westbrook has played for the Thunder, Rockets, Wizards, Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, and Kings. His total career earnings reportedly exceed $350 million. He has already won MVP, All-NBA honors, scoring titles, assist titles, and an Olympic gold medal. The only thing missing from his resume is a championship ring.

Over the years, the closest Westbrook came to a championship was during the 11-12 season with the Thunder. Back then, he, Durant, and Harden were all young and created a youth storm that swept the entire league.

Among the three young stars, only big brother KD has won a championship — two titles and two Finals MVPs. However, because he joined the Warriors, the legitimacy of those rings has always been questioned.

In short, for some, a championship is easily obtained, but for most, it's elusive. Many spend their entire careers striving for it, only to end in failure.
